30 Day Review on eXp Realty And Why We Joined The Network

Hey guys, Nicole Espinosa with The Short Sale Queen, now powered by eXp Realty.

So, I wanted to do this video because, I’m calling it the 30 Day Review, but I’ve been here about 45 days. And I’m getting this question a lot, especially on why we moved, right.

We were at Keller Williams for about a year and a half, and I am so grateful for my time there, because I have restructured my entire business.

But with our expansion, we strategically aligned with the network that we’re with so that we can continue to grow.

So, I’m going to give you the 30 Day Review or the 45 in my case, on what I think about EXP and what our plans are if you’re wanting to partner up with us.

So first of all, it is definitely a different world. I’ve always been a part of a local brokerage, so being a part of something national, it’s definitely been very different.

I think the one thing that I’ve taken away so far, because as you know, like joining any new company, you’re trying to figure out their policies and the way they do things and things like that.

But I think my biggest takeaway so far is the power of the network. And the reason why I say thatt is because EXP is a great platform. But just like any other platform, it’s how you utilize it.

So for me, we aligned with Jay Kinder and Michael Reese with the Honey Badger Network because we wanted to be a part of power players. I think a lot of times and of course, there’s not one size fits all, right? It depends on what your business is, what you’re looking to do with your business, because there are a lot of great brokerages out there, but it really just depends on what you’re trying to do.

So for us, specifically, EXP was a great platform, but it was really the network that we aligned ourselves with, because we have been able to completely plug ourselves into their systems.

And as a real estate agent, I think it’s very easy to try to constantly reinvent the wheel, get lost in the technology pieces and the different brokerages. When, let’s be real, we’ve got to sell houses, right? So I need to be in a place and I need my agents that are part of my team to be a part of a platform that allows us to sell more houses and all the other crap that they offer, fantastic, but what are the systems and what relationships can I make or be aligned with that can help me grow to sell more houses?

And it’s been incredible, I honestly I have not been through every single system, because it’s a lot. But with the systems that we have been a part of, their weekly trainings, live trainings on different subjects, the systems that they’re using to get more listings, how they are running their team, because that’s a whole other ballgame, right? Hiring and structuring with leads and things like that.

I mean, they really dive in. Our network specifically, we have about four events a year. It was awesome timing. When I joined, a couple weeks later, we went to a mastermind in Key West and I was able to sit down with agents that were doing two to 3 million GCI.

So if you’re a real estate agent, and or just someone watching this wanting to become an agent, GCI is your gross commission. So this is not “Oh, I did two to 3 million in sales, this is what I netted. This was my commission, 2 to 3 million.”

And I challenge you if you’re at a brokerage or if you’re in a company, and they have a lot of fluff out There. I was talking to an agent earlier today, and she’s like, “I’m sick of the bullshit. I’m sick of agents that are like, ‘Oh, I’m a multi million dollar agent’, which doesn’t mean shit”.

Multi million dollar agent means you sold one or two houses. Let’s talk about what you’re netting. Let’s talk about your bottom line, because at the end of the day, who cares about the accolades, who cares about the awards? Because the words are going to make you money, especially if there’s some bullshit paper saying, “congratulations, top producer”. Are you profitable?

And that’s what I wanted to align myself with, power players that were focused on “how can we put profit first, and continue to grow our business and monetize on our time?” And so I was able to get these agents plugged in, so anybody that is a part of our network, we’re able to plug them into this group that has national training. I think it’s National Expert Advisors, which I’m sure is wrong, but whatever. We’ll put the link there.

But Jay Kinder and Michael Reese, they have this program that they offer to their downline as a part of this group that we’re in, so that we can continue to grow and build our businesses.

The other awesome things that a lot of times people get when when they talk about EXP is the revenue share, which is fantastic. But it wasn’t my main reason for moving.

It was just a extra bonus that we could have stock ownership into a company, that we have an opportunity that the agents we’re already mentoring, and align with, that we have the opportunity to now make residual income. And that was huge for me, like, why did we get into real estate? We get into real estate so that we can invest, so that we can have our own business.

So it’s not just about selling houses, now let’s talk about passive income to where it’s already in alignment with what we’re doing, and now we’re making income off of it as well, which is all going back to the part of the vision of what we’re trying to do with our business.

The Short Sale Queen specifically, we went nationwide in February of 2018, beginning of 2019, beginning of this year, and we have agents in every market, that’s our goal. We have listings all over the country, and now we’re looking for partners to join us that literally can have our listings, because we’re not licensed in those states.

So EXP provided a platform where now we all have one team in DFW, and now all over the nation. We have agents in Arizona, and New Jersey and California, and they’re able to plug into our network and we’re able to give them listings and it’s with the business that we’re already doing.

So, as far as the negatives with EXP, I definitely see how people can get lost because it is all virtual, and if you’re a top producer like me, or if you’re really in sales, let’s be real, we don’t read, right? I’ll get an email like five paragraphs and I’ll kind of skim over it. That is Probably where we can get a little lost. But we do have like a concierge that is following up with us and saying, “hey, just do this, this and this.” So I totally appreciate that, because what I’ve seen and talking to other people with EXP is the amount of support and collaboration, which is something that was so important to me, because when I was at my other company, that’s the sole reason or the sole value that I got from it.

I mean, I didn’t really care about their CRM or their technology because I run a business outside the brokerage, meaning that I have my own systems. I don’t run a separate business, but I have my own CRM, I have my own systems in place for my team. So for me, it was the value of being able to network with other like-minded people that were a lot smarter than me, because I don’t want to be the smartest person in the room. I want to be able to learn and stop reinventing the wheel, and I feel like that’s going to be my theme for 2020, stop reinventing the wheel.

That’s going to be a saying At some point, because that’s what I did my entire business. That’s what I did my entire career until a couple years ago, and it wasn’t until I humbled myself, and aligned myself with people that were doing much better than me, that I started learning. And really, our business has taken off. So, that’s just a little bit about our experience so far.

I’m really excited, we have about nine agents right now a part of our network and a part of the team. So, if you’re looking, if you just want to no agenda, no nothing just want to pick my brain or if you want to talk about it, and see if it’d be a good fit, feel free to reach out to me, we’ll put the links in the bio, would love to see if we can help grow your business, because 2020 we’re hitting six new markets across the nation. So if you’re a real estate agent, we’d love to talk to you about how we can get you more business, give you our listings, and help you grow in your market.
